RockShox founder Paul Turner started Maverick American in 1999 the same way he did RockShox in 1987, by building something he and a few friends could use to enhance their off-road riding pleasure. Eight years later, Maverick has gone beyond what Turner and RockShox 1.0 did: develop a full-suspension platform based on complete bikes, not just the front or rear components.
The Maverick Matic is the culmination of this focus, and at $US3,729, reflects a maturation of sorts for the Boulder, Colorado company who first introduced $US1,000 forks to the market just a few years ago. Complete bikes is a competitive business, but Turner & Company are unconventional thinkers and tinkerers, and the Matic offers several features to whet the dirt-lover's appetite, including five inches of travel, eight custom options, Monolink technology, natural wheel path engineering, and minimal chain growth.

For those of you who don’t know Maverick bikes are incredible. I have been riding Maverick frames for the last 6 years and that is saying a lot considering what I do for a living. I run WrenchScience.com which is an online retailer who sells the worlds best full suspension mountain bikes. Every time a new full suspension bike comes out I put it to the test and it never fails that I end up back on the Maverick. I would love to find some competition for this design but it simply hasn’t happened yet.
