Hope Mono 6 DH/Freeride brakes

By BikeRadar

Hope's excellent Mono 6 DH/Freeride brakes have been out for a while, but are now available with a few different options you might not know of...

As standard, they feature braided hoses, a one-piece calliper design with six titanium pistons (or pots), and floating discs made up of aluminium spiders and hardened steel discs.

To keep up with the demand of fork manufacturers, and the more direct post mounting that many fork manufacturers are heading towards, Hope now offer a post mount calliper rather than adaptors - a much cleaner, sturdier option. They also come with aftermarket options of custom etched levers, machined discs and, soon, master cylinder top cap etching as well...

In use, the brakes are as fantastically powerful as ever - even the 185mm disc option is a one finger only effort, while stopping the 205 and 225mm options can be done with your fingernails!

Being British is a damn good excuse to support Hope with your hard earned cash - and what you'll get in return are a set of flawless brakes and the reassurance of an exemplary back-up service.
