Lots of manufacturers have been stripping the padding out of their XC race saddles while incorporating more flex in to the hull to compensate. We've seen plenty of carbon versions, but Tioga have gone one further by designing a carbon composite, lattice design hull.

Mated to titanium rails, this saddle weighs just 142g and makes almost everyone who sees it wince. The riding reality, though, is surprising; the flex in the hull is significant and once you get your mind over the zero padding it is actually comfortable. OK, all-day rides are pushing it, but for short blasts and XC races it's pretty near-perfect. Obviously not the best option for wet weather rides...
