Vandenbroucke finds new team for 2008
With his victory in Liege-Bastogne-Liege in 1999 and his daredevil attitude, Belgian Frank Vandenbroucke once stole the hearts of cycling fans. But from 2000 until today, his cycling career has too often been below zero, despite numerous 'comebacks'.
Next year he'll have a new team (again), namely Mitsubishi-Jartazi, a Belgian professional continental team.
"It could be that I'll show beautiful things again on the bike," VDB promises.
Vandenbroucke has other plans. He will take part in a cyclo-cross race this winter, the Koppenbergcross on November 1st in Oudenaarde, Belgium. Each lap, the riders have to climb the Koppenberg, the famous but cruel hill known from the Tour of Flanders.
VDB says he's eager to cope with the mud, but it doesn't stop there. He'll probably be filmed for a new docu-soap on his life too. And everyone is still waiting for the publication of his autobiography.
Conclusion: although he's seldom on his bike, VDB is still 'hot'!

I feel really sorry for the bloke as he very obviously has severe emotional/mental problems. I have to say though with his history the team must be insane due to his lack of dependability. Also yet again does Pro cycle sport really need another proven drug abuser back in it's ranks. It's long past time FDB call it quits.

I agree, it is a crying shame and a waste of talent but I feel he should be left alone to sort his fragile personal life
