2010 Redline Conquest Pro bikes and framesets recalled

Defective forks are to blame

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission, in co-operation with Seattle Bike Supply, has announced a voluntary recall of 2010 Redline Conquest Pro cyclo-cross bikes and framesets.

Owners should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Roughly 350 Conquest Pro bikes and frames were sold between August and November 2009. The model is being recalled because the fork legs can separate from the crown and cause the rider to lose control. SBS are aware of three reports of forks separating, with minor injuries reported in one of the incidents.

The recall covers all 2010 Redline Conquest Pro bikes and framesets. Pearl white/blue in colour, they have aluminium frames with carbon fibre forks and aluminium steerer tubes. The bicycles were sold for $1,900 and $550 for the frameset. All of the recalled forks were manufactured in Taiwan.

Owners should contact their local Redline bicycle dealer to receive a free inspection and fork replacement. For additional information, contact Redline Bicycles on 800-283-2453 or visit www.redlinebicycles.com.
