Lance Armstrong and his former assistant Mike Anderson have agreed a compromise deal at the end of a year-long dispute that led both men to start legal proceedings against the other. According to a joint statement: "Lance and Mike have wished each other the best of luck in the future."

Anderson had claimed that Armstrong owed him hundreds of thousands of dollars after allegedly reneging on a promise to help Anderson open a bike shop. The agreement was announced after Travis County judge Margaret Cooper dismissed Anderson's claim Armstrong owed him $300,000 toward the bike shop. The judge had previously dismissed Anderson's breach of contract and fraud claims against the seven-time Tour de France winner.

This only left a claim by Anderson that Armstrong had defamed him by saying that his assistant had been fired because he stole from Armstrong. No further comment on the agreement has been made by either side.
