AX Lightness unveil 745g frameset

German firm AX Lightness, best known for their carbon fibre components, have revealed details of an all-new ultralight frameset.

The carbon Vial, which will be available direct for €4,900, weighs in at a claimed 745g (55cm) and was laid up by hand at their factory in Germany. For now it comes in 55cm and 57cm sizes, but a smaller 53cm frame is set for this summer. The frame is notable for the dropped position of the intersection between top tube, seat tube and seat stays, which is said to improve stiffness and flexibility of the seat post.

Spec details included a BB 386 bottom bracket, 1 ½” headset and 3T Rigidia fork. The frameset package comes complete with a carbon Revit seatpost, which is part of AX Lightness’ new second-tier Engage component line. If this black/electric blue number doesn't do it for you, different paint jobs are also available on request. Visit their website for more information.
