PICTURE BY TIM DE WAELE Michele Bartoli has withdrawn from the Italian road team for the Athens Olympics because he is still suffering with the hamstring injury that forced him to abandon the Tour de France on stage 17. After riding in Sunday's HEW Cyclassics Cup, Bartoli, 34, felt that his form was not good enough to merit a place at the Games and announced his decision to withdraw after speaking with Italian selector Franco Ballerini. Bartoli will be replaced by Quick Step's Luca Paolini, who joins team-mate Paolo Bettini in the five-man road team, which also comprises Filippo Pozzato, Daniele Nardello and Cristian Moreni.
