Big blokes need small bikes?

Check out this whopper of a stem belonging to Axel Merckx, 6'3. Apparently they still make 150mm stems. If that tiller stacked on all those spacers up front wasn't enough, check out the length of the seatmast on his Giant. Axel obviously doesn't like the feel of a big frame beneath him.

Whilst we're in the flat stages, weight is not a big an issue and the guys can afford to ride carrying a bit more. Shimano Dura-Ace SRM power cranks seams to be the order of the day on T-Mobile. Nearly the entire team are riding them and SRM are even transmitting live readings (the transmitter is located in the box fastened to the rear of the seatmast). You can check out the readings on www.srmlive.de. during the stage.

One guess for the owner of these shoes?

If you fancy a pair, grab them now because Nike are pulling their cycling range at the end of the year.
