Congratulations on winning the Red Bull Bike Battle Chris, what was it like to ride?

"Pretty good. It was one of the best events I've ever been to, a good day, lots of people watching, plenty of noise..."

It looked like hard work.

"It was, physically, but mostly mentally."

How come?

"Well usually in trials it's dictated to you where you go and what you do. But with this you had two minutes to turn all the obstacles into a nice flowing session. The hardest bit is the timing, when you're riding how long is two minutes? I just rode it for fun and tried to use the whole course."

You were judged on all sorts of things, but did you feel the pressure to go big?

"I always like to go big anyway. I had a couple of crashes, but that's all part of it. You've got to go for it."

You beat some pretty good riders, former World Champion Petr Kraus for one.

"I was stoked to win. Petr was getting better and better as he rode so I just gave it everything and went from fourth to first."

So you win a trip to Boston.

"In September. It's the equivalent event over there. Edd did it last year, but I've never been to the States before".
