Bike Week is here

National Bike Week aims to get people on to two wheels, either to discover or rediscover the joys of cycling, or simply for the health and environmental benefits cycling brings.

National Bike Week aims to get people on to two wheels, either to discover or rediscover the joys of cycling, or simply for the health and environmental benefits cycling brings.

Events are being held all over the UK, from the Great Inverurie Bike Ride in Scotland to the Bike2Work/bike breakfast in Truro, Cornwall. The Bike2Work promotion aims to get commuters out of their car seat and onto a saddle. Most commuters realise that two wheels beats four in built up urban areas, where congestion is a particular problem.

As well as the organised rides, there’s also cycling skills advice and free cycle safety checks provided by ‘Dr Bike’ – so take along your bike and the ‘Dr’ and his team will give it the once-over to make sure it’s safe to ride.
