Tom Boonen has got quickly back into winning form following the loss of his Paris-Roubaix title last Sunday. Belgium's world champion has won today's Scheldeprijs Vlaanderen one-day race in Schoten, finishing ahead of his team-mate and lead-out man Steven de Jongh in a 20-rider sprint, with Davitamon-Lotto's Gert Steegmans third.

Unlike Roubaix where they failed to get a single rider into the winning break with Boonen, Quick Step were in better of control of things today. They managed to get no less than seven riders into the 23-man break that decided the race, and had no problem setting up Boonen for the victory from that position of superiority.

The race marked the end of Boonen's spring campaign, which has seen him take 13 of his team's 22 victories. Today's was the 60th of the 25 year old's career.

"Now I'm going to give myself a bit of a holiday but I will also be thinking about my preparation for the Tour de France and so I will be spending time in Tenerife and Monaco," said Boonen.
