Cam McCaul wins 26Trix dirt jump competition in Leogang

Brandon Semenuk second, Martin Soderstrom third

The Out Of Bounds mountain bike freeride festival hosted the 5th 26TRIX dirt jump contest in Leogang, Austria over the weekend where American rider Cam McCaul took the win ahead of Brandon Semenuk and Martin Söderström.

26Trix is one of the events on the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour which will visit BikeRadar Live on 10-11 July 2010.

Sixteen riders made it into the finals which had an overall prize purse of 10,000 euros: Brandon Semenuk (CAN), Sam Pilgrim (GBR), Andreu Lacondeguy (ESP), Martin Söderström (SWE), Amir Kabbani (GER), Yannick Granieri (FRA), Linus Sjöholm (SWE), Kelly McGarry (NZE), Niki Leitner (AUT), Cameron and Tyler McCaul (USA), Grant Fielder (GBR), Paul Basagoitia (USA), Graham Agassiz (CAN), Sam Reynolds (GBR) and Simon Kirchmann (GER).

Canadian Brandon Semenuk led after the first of two runs, pulling a tailwhip at the first step up jump, a 360 at the step down, as well as an opposite 360 at the hip, to shoot into the Airtime Line (first double 11 metres distance, second 8 metres) and going big with a backflip x-up one foot and a truck driver at the two big doubles. Semenuk finished his run with a tailwhip before the last turn and a flipwhip.

Martin Söderström will be riding at BikeRadar Live

Swedish rider Martin Söderström, who’ll also be riding at the Mountain Biking UK Dirt Jump Invitational at BikeRadar Live, crashed in his first run but delivered in his second – backflipping the step up, barspinning at the step down, 360 table top at the hip, tailwhip and 360 no hander at the Airtime Line followed by a no hander and a double tailwhip.

Cam McCaul, however, was on fire for his final run, combining a sublime mix of style and tricks – backflip, barspin and tailwhip in the first section, tailwhip and frontflip on the two biggest doubles, as well as a tailwhip and flipwhip at the end .

Nobody could touch McCaul after such a fine run.
