Chris King, Hans Rey team up for charity

Wheels4Life to benefit from DreadSet sales.

Hans Rey's charity Wheels4Life is getting a boost from Chris King with a special edition DreadSet™ to raise awareness and funding for the nonprofit, similar to Chris King's ongoing `Pretty and Strong' special edition pink component series in support of breast cancer research since 2004.

Wheels4Life, founded by Rey in 2005, is a non-profit charity providing new bicycles at no cost to people in need around the world. The 41-year-old bicycling ambassador chose the colors red, gold, black and green to represent Wheel4Life, using the Chris King DreadSet on his Team GT bicycles. As Hans is among the company's longest running sponsorship athletes, Chris King created a permanent program supporting Wheels4Life.

"Hans understands the important role of the bicycle in our planet's future," said Chris DiStefano, King's company spokesman. "His organization is lean and efficient, ensuring that donations result in bicycles in the places where they are most needed. Those bicycles go on to provide a value much greater than the money that paid for them. Ask anyone who counts on their bike what it's worth and their answer will be a lot more than just dollars and cents."

"For some, bicycles are recreational equipment, while for some people they can mean survival or profoundly change a life."

According to Rey, for some, bicycles are recreational equipment, while for some people they can mean survival or profoundly change a life. "Companies like Chris King understand that giving the gift of mobility in the form of bicycles is a wonderful cause," he added.
