Britain's Nicole Cooke won the Flche Wallonne round of the World Cup in Belgium today, beating Australia's Oenone Wood by four seconds over a 105.5km course that finished at the top of the Mur de Huy. Germany's Olympic road race silver medallist Judith Arndt was third.

Cooke's second career victory in Flche took her up to third place in the World Cup standings after five events. Wood took the lead in the series from Holland's Mirjam Melchers, who finished fourth today.

- Team LPR's Giuseppe Muraglia took his first pro win when he proved quickest of a small group of riders on the second stage of the Tour of Trentino in Marcena di Rumo. Part of a group that went clear of the peloton and off in pursuit of an earlier break about halfway through the stage, Muraglia was extremely active in the closing kilometres, before beating Domina Vacanze's Sergio Ghisalberti and Panaria's Julio Alberto Perez Cuapio in the final sprint. Perez Cuapio took the overall lead.
