Cycle Surgery sold to Snow+Rock

By Tony Farrelly

London- based Cycle Surgery has been sold by its founders Ben Cater and Stephen Swinton to winter sports chain Snow + Rock for an undisclosed sum.

The move should herald an expansion of the mid to high end chain of bike stores beyond its London stronghold where it currently has seven stores mainly in central and north London. Snow + Rock has eight superstores across the UK which would fit with Cycle Surgery's plans to open stores in key 'destination locations' across the UK.

According to Cycle Surgery's Mike Cunningham, customers should notice no difference in the stores, there will be no staff losses and no changes to the product ranges. Cycle Surgery stocks bike from Specialized, Marin, Orange, Giant and Genesis among others.
