The incident happened about Tuesday, local time. Police attended the scene after a passing motorist spotted the fallen cyclist, later revealed to be 49 year old Vincent Sullivan. When police arrived on the scene Sullivan was still alive, but he died later at the hospital.

An autopsy has taken place but results not yet released.

Tallahassee Police Department spokesman David McCranie said there was no evidence to suggest that Sullivan was hit by a car but that the autopsy should tell investigators more about what happened. They are appealing for witnesses to the accident that took place near Lake Lodge Apartments on

Lake Avenue

  • Whoa... poor guy. *shocked* Hope this aint an urban myth... mind you in one way hope it is...

  • There was a Series about Accidents on Television that happened in the UK or about UK Citizens in Foreign Countries one in Italy about a Parachutist in the Alps. But one Story concerned a Little Boy around 10 -12 in the Home Counties around the London Area and a Mishap with his Bike. It was a kind of Mountain Bike or Trials Bike for a Child. He was Speeding along and went up a Hillock about 3 ft high and came down the other side in a Heap. It was some time before anyone knew he was in trouble. The Front Fork collapsed and somehow one Bar went through his Head and I think it went into his Brain. The Rescuers had to Lift the Bike and Child together very carefully and bring them to Hospital for Fear if they tried to Remove it they would Kill the Child. After a very long Operation with many Scans to see if the Brain would be Damaged if they removed it they finally removed the Bar. I think they had to do Reconstructive Surgery but after a long time he was alright eventually. So it has happened before unfortunately. They still show this Series every so often on Television in Ireland made by the BBC or ITV.
