Doddy's North Shore Techniques
Monday, March 1, 2004 12.00am
One of the most impressive-looking and challenging obstacles in many North Shore parks is the helter-skelter, where a wooden platform snakes its way round a tree. Such an obstacle may look easy to ride but it's often narrow and placed close to the tree, giving you little room to manoeuvre. In fact, the helter-skelter that we're using for this demonstration is difficult to roll down because your wheels almost come off the outside edge. The best technique to use in such a situation is a rolling endo, which gives you valuable balance and momentum, as well as a few extra style points.Find out how to master them in the new issue of MBUK, on sale now
