Burgundy Tourism has launched a new website extolling the delights of cycling in what is one of France’s most attractive regions.
The site, www.burgundy-by-bike.com details how you can enjoy vineyards, gastronomy, heritage, plus inns and hotels overflowing with Burgundian hospitality while joining up the epicurean and cultural dots by pedal power. It also provides practical information detailing bike rental and repairs, travel organisers, guides and relevant tourist authorities.
Burgundy has a 360 mile network of cycle paths with a further 140 miles planned for the near future and the site recommends five main itineraries, partly made up of voies vertes or green ways. They mostly follow canal towpaths but also take in vineyard paths, disused railway lines and little country roads allowing riders to discover different areas of Burgundy easily and safely.
In addition to the new website a fully illustrated brochure is available, promoting cycling as one of the best ways to discover the region.
