Evans Cycles Ride It! in Milton Keynes this weekend

On and off-road routes to suit every rider

Evans Cycles’ Ride It! events are organised road and off-road rides which are designed to take the hassle out of your weekend riding. They are non-competitive with the emphasis on riding with other riders and sampling some different road and off-road routes around the UK

Taking place every other the next event in the series takes place at Milton Keynes over this weekend (mountain bike on Saturday and road on Sunday). Every ride has three or four waymarked routes designed for all standards of riders from family groups to experienced cyclists.

Saturday is the off-road ride based at The Pavilion community building, Bow Brickhill, MK17 9JB. This ride offers riders a real taste of the beautiful countryside and woodland of ‘middle England’ taking in some great climbs, technical descents, well balanced with canal towpaths and some quiet lanes.

Route options available at this venue:

  • Short – 15 miles
  • Medium – 25 miles
  • Long – 35 miles

Sunday is the road ride which heads south out of the event centre, The Pavillion, and after some long but gentle climbs end up at Beacon, which is the start of the Ridgeway and lovely views over the plains of the Chilterns. It then meanders through the beautiful countryside and farmland of the Chilterns on quiet lanes before pedalling through the beautiful grounds of Woburn Abbey.

  • Long – 90 miles

Adult entry is £10 per rider.  Entries can be purchased on the Evans Cycles website at www.evanscycles.com/rideit and are also taken on the day (subject to a £2.50 surcharge)

“Although we cater for the experienced bike riders, the rides have been designed for novices and families as well” explains Dean.  “At every event there’s a shorter 12-15 mile loop and all kids under 16 ride free.  The free entry for kids is something that is unique and designed to encourage more youngsters into cycling.”
