The 2007 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships begin today in Fort William, Scotland, and Britain's Steve Peat who dislocated his foot just over a month ago will be ready to race on Sunday in the Elite men's downhill competition.
Tracey Moseley, Women's downhill World Cup champion in 2006 is relishing the prospect of competing against the world's best on home soil. "Fort William has the most loyal and amazing fans," she said. "It's an incredible experience to race with such a supportive crowd behind you.'"
Other British racers to look out for include Women's cross country champion Jenny Copnall, who almost didn't make the British team, and Nick Craig who will race in the Elite cross country race which takes place on Saturday, September 8.

Advance ticket sales for this week's World Championships have smashed previous sales for the event. They are up 300% on last year for Friday when the 4X world championships take place so the course will brimming with atmosphere and plenty of noise.
Tonight's opening procession, which begins at 7pm will feature a parade of nations, DJs, massed pipe bands, and a huge fireworks display.
