First look: Electra Delivery 3i

By Gary Boulanger, Us editor

The US$749 Electra Delivery 3i urban cruiser has a certain 'je ne sais quoi', making it one of the more interesting Shimano Nexus 3-speeders we've seen and ridden.

The style meisters at Electra designed the Delivery 3i with its popular feet-forward concept, where the bottom bracket is slightly in front of the standard location for a more laid-back ride. The aluminium frame has all the curves of a female boulangerie, and the wooden accessories -- grips, front basket and rear rack -- compliment the aesthetic nicely. There's a lot going on with the Delivery 3i, and somehow it all works.

Our maiden voyage was a night ride to Krispy Kreme. Our tester couldn't keep his hands of the bar-mounted bell, and the sight of this bike cruising through downtown Mountain View, California on a warm Friday night was a sight to behold. White balloon tyres and matching Chicago Gray all around ties the bike's theme together just right.
