Gear news round-up: New pedals, saddles and jerseys

Latest kit from Syncros, S Manie and Half Baked Brand

French downhill and four-cross star Cedric Gracia is racing on Syncros pedals this year, and the company are releasing a limited edition pair of their Meathook flats to celebrate the tie-up.

Available this autumn, the pedals feature a red anodised finish with white CG star logo. The body is made of extruded and CNC-machined alloy, axles are chromoly, and they run on a mix of sealed cartridge bearings and bushings.

RRP is €122.10 and claimed weight is 490g. The pedals will come with 3mm pins; 6mm pins are available if you want more bite, as well as shorter 'urban' pins. For more details, visit www.syncros.com.

Premium saddles from S Manie

S Manie is a new premium brand from one of the world's largest saddle producers, with a focus on light weight (they "aim to produce the lightest product in each category"), cutting-edge technology and environmental responsibility.

The model shown here is the £129.95 MK Pro which has titanium rails, a nylon base with carbon fibre central channel, and a microfibre cover with variable thickness EVA padding. Claimed weight is 149g. A full-carbon MK 100 is also available, which weighs just 100g but costs £229.95.

Other models in the range are slightly heavier (and cheaper) but include comfort-enhancing features like air cushions in the nose and tail, elastomer inserts in the base and, on the £79.95/183g Mask Race (shown below), a shell that consists of three independent ‘wings’ hooked onto a carbon-filled nylon base.

S Manie products will be available in the UK from late September 2010 through distributors Windwave.

Half Baked Brand jerseys

Half Baked Brand are a new Devon-based technical sportswear and urban clothing company. They already have a range of Coolmax cycle jerseys, a bib short, T-shirt and polo shirt, and are planning to add arm warmers and winter jerseys later this year. They also make custom kit for clubs, with prices starting at £32 a jersey (minimum order of 10).

Pictured above is the 'Jack' jersey. If the Union Flag isn't your thing, they also offer designs based on the Saltire (Scottish flag), and the flags of Devon and Cornwall. One of the latest additions to the range is the Milking It! design shown below. All the jerseys cost £39.99 and have three rear pockets. Visit www.halfbb.com for more information.
