Sciandri and Sorensen throw down the gauntlet

The fourth season of Revolution is set to start on 14th October and Max Sciandri (Olympic Road Race Bronze 1996) and Rolf Sorensen (Olympic Road Race Silver 1996) are preparing to restore old rivalries to entertain the Manchester Velodrome crowds.

Andrea Tafi (Paris-Roubaix Winner 1999), Franco Ballerini (Paris-Roubaix Winner 1998) and Silvio Martinello (Olympic Points Race Champion 1996) are also dusting off their bikes for a one-night only return to racing, and the competition is heating up with all the ex pros training hard in preparation for a return to action.

Sciandri said: "We've all been out training and everyone is really looking forward to it. Rolf already pulled off on a climb at the end of the ride so I took the opportunity to joke with him about his chances at Revolution."

Ten years have now passed since Sorensen took silver ahead of Sciandri in the 1996 Olympic Games Road Race and you'd think the grudge would be long over, but it's not.

Max has already been getting stuck in with some banter: "Rolf has put a bit of weight on so I don't think he's as much of a threat as he used to be - at least I've managed to stay in shape." Oh, what a joker.
