The new GSK Routes and Rides initiative aims to make it safer and easier for people to have fun on their bikes and help bring back the family bike ride. The ride, on Sunday 19th August, will start and finish in Bailey Park, with the main route covering a distance of 12 miles through the picturesque Welsh countryside around the park. The route is suitable for all ages and riding abilities. There will also be refreshment and sampling stations along the route, as well as a Bike Base bike doctor to make sure your bike is in tip-top condition.
For riders who want more of a challenge, there will also be a 24-mile route option.
Double Olympic medallist and track star Rob Hayles will be at the event to offer advice, and is keen to encourage people to rediscover the family bike ride. He said: "I remember going on bike rides when I was a kid and having loads of fun, it's what got me interested in cycling. The GSK Routes and Rides initiative is excellent as there are more and more people with bikes who just don't know where to go for an enjoyable and safe bike ride."
There will be plenty of entertainment for all the family including BMX and Cycle Speedway displays, bouncy castle, fairground rides and plenty of food and drink.
Ride places are limited, so go to the site now to register your entry and claim your GSK Routes and Rides goody bag.
