PIC: Tyler Hamilton (courtesy Tinkoff Credit Systems) In a May 9 press release, Team Tinkoff Credit Systems, after thorough examination of all the issues at stake, reached the conclusion that Jorg Jaksche and Olympic Champion Tyler Hamilton shall not be included in the upcoming Giro d'Italia roster due to the new circumstances and decisions made public in the last few days. This decision is also aiming at relieving pressure created around the Giro (starting May 12) and on the team itself after the statements made by all other teams that decided not to allow to start any riders anyhow implicated in Operation Puerto. The management of the team also decided to suspend the two riders from the team until the competent authorities will have finally sorted out all the implication of the riders in Operation Puerto. After the suspension of Danilo Hondo for the extension of his ban, all riders with doping related histories have been suspended from the team. Tinkoff Credit Systems team management has decided to fully support the decision on the fight against doping promoted by UCI President Mr. Pat McQuaid and race organizers effectively resolve the issue.
