Tyler Hamilton reveals the date of his hearing to discuss blood doping charges and talks of his deli
PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM In the latest update on his personal website, Tyler Hamilton has revealed that his hearing with the US cycling federation is likely to take place at some point between February 28 and March 3. Hamilton says that he is looking forward to having the chance to put forward his case following his positive test for blood doping at the Tour of Spain last September. "The panel has been selected and we are working toward solidifying a date to present my case," says Hamilton on his site. "Originally we thought it might be in mid-February, but it is looking more and more like it will take place in early March. That would mean a verdict would be delivered by mid-March." The former Phonak rider also wrote about his pleasure on hearing that the Swiss team had been belatedly accepted into the ProTour as a result of a ruling by the Court for Arbitration in Sport. "I heard something I haven't heard in a while - the sound of excitement and sheer happiness. The lawyers who represented the Phonak team during the CAS appeal were sharing the good news - the team's appeal was upheld and Phonak was officially part of the Pro Tour. "It felt great to get some good news. I'm excited for the Phonak team and am happy to see them move forward with the kind of race schedule they deserve. They are off to a great start, with Robert Hunter winning the first race of the year." Hamilton also reports that he has stayed in close contact with his Italian coach, Luigi Cecchini and that he has spent some time testing with Cecchini in Italy. "Cecco and I are moving forward with my training program as if the season ahead were going to go as planned. That said, I haven't missed a day on the bike, and as a result, my fitness is on track for this time of year, maybe even a little ahead of schedule," writes Hamilton.
