Here comes the Tour!

The excitement is mounting...
It's the day before the Tour de France begins its three week voyage around France, starting in Nantes. The riders are making their final preparations, maybe riding some of the stage 1 TT or just going for a light spin to loosen the legs, getting a massage, eating and resting as much as possible.

All the while, the excitement is building across the world as hundreds of thousands of fans get ready to follow the riders through the coming ordeal.

Can Armstrong score a seventh win? Will Ullrich recapture the form he had in the late 90s to push Armstrong to the limit? Will the French finally have something to cheer about? All will be revealed in the coming weeks - why not get on the forum and tell us who you think will win?

If you're still not in the mood, BBC4 has a night of Tour related programming ready for you on Saturday night, the highlight being the documentary Death on the Mountain, the story of Tom Simpsons career and death on Mt Ventoux. C+ editor Tony Farrelly was given a sneak preview of the documentary and was very impressed - don't miss it!
