I was just cycling to work when.

Isn't it always the way that when out on the trail you can clear the gnarliest terrain as if it was flat, soar over huge jumps without a glitch of hesitation and drift round corners at full tilt without taking a foot off the pedals. But turning into the ghetto underground car park at work can bust your ribs.
Doddy was taking the last corner into the car park when a metal beast on 4 wheels emerged from behind the steel shutter doors and lunged at him. Taking immediate avoiding action resulted in his front wheel washing out and him hitting the deck like a sack off spuds. The result; three cracked ribs, a hole in his lovely brand new North Face jacket, a broken Oakley watch, and a stinker of a mood for the rest of the day.
The lesson; always ride to work in a jacket that is at least a month old in order to avoid more serious upset.
