International Bicycle Design competition commences

The International Bicycle Design Competition, held annually and based in Taiwanese capital Taipei will be open for entries from 1 May.

Entries can be filed here up until August 10. 21 finalists will be selected from all entries and they will be notified by September 15, 2008.  The shorlisted entries will then be requested to submit a small-scale model of their entry before December 20, 2008. Final results will be announced on March 17, 2009, the first day of the 2009 Taipei International Cycle Show.

The Grand Prize for the competition that bills itself as the 'only worldwide bicycle design competition' is NT$500,000 or around £8,200.
