PICTURE BY TIM DE WAELE The prize for the best story of the day goes to German tabloid Bild Zeitung, which carries a story claiming that T-Mobile have cut off Jan Ullrich's mobile phone after the 1997 Tour de France winner failed to pay the bill. According to Bild, many members of the T-Mobile team are provided with complimentary merchandise by their team sponsor, but the compliment does not stretch to paying the bill for calls made on the T-Mobile network. Normally these are sent to the T-Mobile team's head office and sorted out by their administrative staff, but in Jan's case the bill appears to have gone awry some in his team's HQ. As with any customer, failure to pay the bill has led to failure to remain connected to the T-Mobile network.
