Just In: Trek Soho 4.0

By Gary Boulanger, US editor

The US$1,100 Trek Soho 4.0, straight out of the box, seems to have everything a bike commuter would want in an urban machine.

Designed around Shimano's Alfine internal 8-speed group, the Soho 4.0 has all the mudguard, chainguard and rack eyelet braze-ons one needs. From the ergo-shaped handlebar grips to the butterfly-shaped pedals, Trek appears to have dialed in a winner.

Check back in a few weeks for a complete BikeRadar review.

  • I have one with mudguards and a rack and think it is a fantastic commuter. The only change I have made to the bike is to flip the stem to lower the bars. It is not the lightest bike and the rear is rather heavy, but overall I like the bike more everyday I ride it.
