Kona Bristol Bikefest 6-hour entries still open

Ashton Court singletrack-fest next weekend

Places are still available in the six-hour event at the Kona Bristol Bikefest, June 7-8. While the Saturday 12-hour is full, organises say there are lots of places available in the 'little brother' event on Sunday.

Riders can take part in the six-hour race as teams of four, pairs or as solo riders.

Entry is via the form on the BikeFest website and if there are places left on-the-day entries will be available. The event website will indicate whether Sunday entries are available so check it before turning up.

Bikefest organisers are offering a 'loyalty gift' valued at more than £25 to riders who take part in both events of the Bristol Bikefest or in a Bristol event and a race at the Cheddar Bikefest (September 27-28, formerly the Cheddar Challenge). Riders who have already entered the Bristol 12-hour can still add the 6-hour and claim their gift.

Rider briefing notes posted

Rather than having to listen to every detail of the rider briefing on the day (or, if you're anything like BikeRadar, miss it because you are frantically looking for your race shoes), you can now swot up in advance. Organisers have posted the rider briefing notes at the Bikefest website so you can read them before you turn up, and while you still know where your shoes are.

Event attractions include the swoopy flowing single track that typifies Aston Court, and Ashton Court Estate and the Bristol Trail Group are working overtime to make sure the course is in tip-top condition, with trail mantenance focused on the sections in Beggar Bush and the quarry trails.

A bigger and better event village will feature demo rides of CycleOps PowerTap wheels, plus displays from Kona, Ritchey, High5, Cannondale, Cube, Bionicon, Propel, ZeroG, Merion Wool, Dodgy Gear, RAM, Intense, Maverick, Merida, Ergon, Yeti, Skoda, Upgrade, Tank Bikes, Rolling Resistance, Evolution, Osians Biking Holidays and Lapierre.
