Kona bikes will be supporting two of the most popular bikefests this year at Ashton Court in Bristol and the Broadway House Caravan park in Cheddar.
The Kona Bristol Bikefest takes place on June 7 and 8 on the almost 10km long loop at Ashton Court, which is loaded with some of the sweetest singletrack south west England has to offer. Aimed at both newbie and experienced riders, there’ll be a 12 hour team/solo endurance race on Saturday June 7, followed by the six hour team/solo event the day after.
Besides the race action there will also be a great musical line-up, with live music and DJs playing from early evening until late on Friday and Saturday. On top of that there will be a large food village and an event village with a broad selection of the latest bikes and kit.
Organisers are expecting a deluge of entries, so if you’re up for it, get your forms in quickly. The first 350 riders will get a free limited edition Kona Bristol Bikefest ‘08 t-shirt and all entries received before the May 1 can camp at the site for free.
The Cheddar Bikefest is being held on September 27 and 28 at the BroadwayHouseCaravanPark, Cheddar. The 2008 event is returning with a reworked course and an improved event village setup.
The Saturday race will have a night riding element this year after being extended to 10 hours. The Sunday event will also grow from four to five hours and will get an extra three hour ‘Novice’ event added to the line-up.
