Landis to learn his fate on Saturday

The International Cycling Union has revealed that Floyd Landis will be informed of the results of the test on his B sample from stage 17 of the Tour de France this coming Saturday. If the test confirms the presence of excess testosterone, the American will be stripped of the Tour title, with the yellow jersey going to runner-up Oscar Pereiro.
Landis also faces a two-year ban if a positive test is confirmed, with the ProTour's ethical code additionally preventing him from riding for a top level team for a further two seasons.
"We have done everything to ensure that all goes quickly and the laboratory has agreed to extend its opening hours until Saturday," UCI spokesman Enrico Carpani told the AFP news agency.
Landis insists he is innocent of drug use, but has also admitted he expects the second sample to return a similar result to the first. If Landis is stripped of the Tour title, he would be the first ever champion to suffer that fate for a doping infraction, and only the second Tour winner in history to suffer this fate.
