Launch of UK's first solo 24-hour champs

By BikeRadar

The UK’s first solo 24-hour mountain bike championships will be held at Newcastleton in the Scottish borders next year.

24 Hours of Exposure will take place on a 10-mile loop around some of the best tracks at the 7stanes trail centre on 22-23 May 2010.

Open to over-18s only, there will be championship jerseys for all the category winners plus a "handsome" prize purse.

It's being organised by SIP Events, the team behind the Montane Kielder 100, with support from Exposure Lights, 7Stanes, Rock UK, Morvelo and XCRacer, and they're promising trackside light charging, mechanic and tech support.

Rory Hitchens of USE/Exposure Lights said: "This is the race to challenge yourself at, to make your mark and to undertake that solo effort you've always promised yourself." For more information, visit www.24hoursolo.co.uk.
