The London Freewheel event gives riders the opportunity to ride along the streets of the capital on roads closed to non-cycle traffic. It will take place on Sunday September 21st.
Sponsored by Sky Sports, organisers hope to build on the popularity of last year’s ride which attracted over 40,000 riders of all ages and ability. The 12km route will take riders past the
Members of the London Cycling Campaign will be on hand to help less experienced riders, and there’ll be plenty of on-bike entertainment to keep everyone in high spirits along the route.
In announcing this year's London Freewheel, Mayor of London Boris Johnson said, “There are lots of Londoners who own bikes but aren’t using them regularly, so hopefully this event will remind people what fun it can be.”
