There are 200 places up for grabs, and all riders who sign up will be entered into a draw to win a training ride with Cavendish later in the year.

The Tour de France sprint star will also be there to start the Pedal Power The Change ride on 18 August.

Riders will cover a 500-mile route divided into six legs ranging from 54 to 105 miles. In return for a sponsorship pledge, each participant will receive seven nights' accommodation and food, plus race support.

The aim is to raise £200,000 for disadvantaged children in 23 developing countries. The money will be used to ensure they receive an education and healthcare, plus help to develop life skills.
