Merida Bikes MTB Marathon series this weekend

By BikeRadar

The second round of the Merida Bikes MTB Marathon series will take place on 24-25th May in Ruthin, North Wales.

With four mountain bike courses and two sportives, the event caters to all types of cyclists. The off-road courses range from a 20km mini marathon to a 92km full course, while the two sportives are 65km (1080m of climbing) and 130km (2069m of climbing). It's possible to ride a sportive on Saturday and a mountain bike marathon on Sunday, and there is a £10 discount for entering both events.

The weekend will also see Cycle Active running their free skills courses and rides. This time around, they're also offering a Total Training course aimed at kids. It consists of a two hour session on Saturday covering skills, bike setup, nutrition and advice about how to ride a marathon. On Sunday, the riders who were trained on Saturday will do a 25km marathon with their instructor. The TT course will cost £30, plus £20 marathon entry fee.
