The third round of the Merida Bikes Mountain Bike Marathon Series took place in Builth Wells over the weekend, and almost 1200 riders joined the MTB-Marathon team at the White House Campsite in Builth Wells to either tackle the course of Saturday's Gore Bike Wear Road Sportive or to ride the Merida Bikes MTB Marathon run on Sunday. Some hardcore riders even did both!

Over a thousand mountain bikers braved the wet weather on Sunday for the Marathon event and the first rider completed the 30km course in one hour in thirty four minutes while the last one finished the 90km long course in eight hours and eleven minutes.

The next round of the series takes place in Selkirk on August 2 and 3, and event organisers are advising riders to enter in advance. Online entry is available on the event website.
