Mick Hannah is new Australian champ

Downhiller to ride for GT this year

After leaving Cannondale with an uncertain future ahead of him, downhiller Mick Hannah has turned it around by winning the Australian National Championships.

The Aussie, who took a break from the World Cup circuit last year, stormed to victory on a 2.2-mile track at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra – the venue of the 2009 UCI World Championships. He came first in qualifying and in the finals.

This was 'Sik Mik's' last race on the Mongoose Boot’r, as he will complete the rest of the '09 season with GT (Mongoose's sister brand) alongside Marc Beaumont on the new carbon fibre Fury.
