Having recently been confirmed with the Saunier Duval team until the end of the 2007 season, Britain's David Millar is set to join the team for a short training camp and a wind tunnel testing session in California next month.
The former Cofidis rider will join up with new team-mates Gilberto Simoni, Koldo Gil and Jos Angel Gomez Marchante after they have competed in the Tour of California. This distinguished quartet of riders will spend five days in San Diego, where they will spend time undertaking tests in a wind tunnel, as well as training on the road.
The wind tunnel session has been organised so that the riders can test both their set-up and that of Scott's new time trial frame, the Plasma. Other new kit and componentry, including Ritchey bars, will also go into the tunnel to assess its suitability.
The four riders doing the testing are Saunier's leaders for the major tours. Simoni will head the Spanish team's challenge at the Giro, Gomez Marchante and Millar will lead at the Tour, and former Liberty Seguros rider Gil is slated to lead them at the Vuelta.
