Mountain Mayhem 2004

The Saab/Salomon 24hrs of Mountain Mayhem is upping sticks and leaving its long time home of Sandwel

New venue, new sponsors, and a new day for the 24hr classic

The Saab/Salomon 24hrs of Mountain Mayhem is upping sticks and leaving its long time home of Sandwell Farm Park to move to pastures new. The new venue will be Eastnor Park, Worcestershire- former home of the Malverns back in the day -and promises to provide a more testing course with big hills, cracking descents and longer lap times.

Entries have been significantly increased to 480 teams and 80 soloist places to accommodate even more enthusiastic souls than ever. Also new for 2004 is the inclusion of a Giant sponsored Dirt Demo day on the Friday where numerous top-line brands will be offering their bikes up for test rides.

The site itself will be also open from the Wednesday for riders and their families to pitch up and use it as a base for an effectively free holiday at no extra cost - with all essential facilities on-site and in place.

New sponsor, Giant Bicycles, is also coming on board along with Powerbar and a hush-hush brand new lighting sponsor who'll be officially launching at the event. The fun is taking place on the 26th and 27th June 2004, so jot it down now, and entries will be open from the end of February.

To get an entry form, send a stamped self-addressed envelope (marked for 'Team' or 'Solo' entry form) to: Mountain Mayhem, 6 High Street, Alton. Staffs. ST10 4AQ.
