If you’ve always struggled to transport a full-size tandem, a Multicycle folding tandem may be the thing for you.
Folding down to the size of a single bike, they can be taken onto trains and carried on towbar-mounted cycle racks.
Now available in the UK, these 700c wheel bikes designed and made in Holland are fully adjustable from 48cm to 61cm to accommodate different rider heights.
They can be used with both Rohloff and derailleur gears, and are built to cope with everything from days out to extreme touring.
The frame folding mechanism has a safety-locking quick-release cam and takes just seconds to fold and unfold. Unlike other folding tandems, the mechanism doesn’t affect the transmission or cables.
There is room for muguards and the bikes feature a built-in lock, prop stand, lights, racks and mini-pump.
An optional front freewheel system allows independent cycling for people with disabilities.
