Naked bike protester goes solo in St Petersburg

By Mark Appleton

Most cyclists are aware of the World Naked Bike Ride movement which highlights the “indecent exposure of people and the planet to cars and the pollution they create” by organising bike rides where clothing is optional.

Apparently the movement is gaining ground in the newly prosperous Russia where car ownership has risen exponentially in recent years. But in the city of Saint Petersburg, there may be a requirement for a little more work on the publicity front, at least if the sight of the single naked cyclist seen protesting recently  is anything to go by.

Ah well, you gotta start somewhere. Sock it to 'em comrade Lutoshkin!
