New 12-29t cassette from Campagnolo

Campag now offer a 12-29t cassette (Campagnolo)
Campagnolo have brought out a new 11-speed cassette which should be perfect for sportive riders. If offers a range of 12-29t, compared to the standard 11-25t or 11-27t.

Campag say this means you can run a compact 50-34t crankset but have gearing equivalent to a 53-42-30t triple crankset, while saving weight and benefiting from better chain alignment.
The cassette will work with standard Campag rear derailleurs. Super Record and Record versions will be available later this month, with a Chorus model hitting shops in February. Prices TBC.

Whoopee :))) I'll finally be able to ditch my 12~29 10-speed special and get back the 16 cog. Great for both standard and compact chainsets; for sportives and audaxes.

34x29 will go up muddy walls with 50 pounds of gear in a headwind. We'll see how this sells.

Surely there would be too many gaps in a cassette like this?
So you would constantly be in that click up and it's too big, click down and it's too small!! Don't know though.

Hey dude
Are those Campag guys puttin' me on!? That's a 17 tooth range on the cassette, and a 16 tooth range on the compact chainset... that sounds like a total range of 33 teeth to me.
Do they REALLY mean a standard rear mech will work with this cassette on a compact 50x34 chainset?
My understanding is that the range of a standard rear mech is a 28 or 29 tooth capacity. Can anyone confirm any different? Are they having us on here?

What is the sprocket range? I'm guessing but it appears you could ride up the Eigar!
