New budget mountain bike frame from Engage Bikes
New Bristol-based company Engage Bikes have released details of their first mountain bike frame – a 6061 aluminium cross-country hardtail dubbed the Soul Brother.
Retailing at £99.99, it has a semi-integrated headset, IS disc mounts, will take forks with up to 100mm of travel and is available in 17in and 19in sizes, with extra sizes available soon.
Engage Bikes main man Alex Mullholland told BikeRadar his aim was to offer mountain bike products at an “accessible pricepoint without the dull colours and graphics normally associated with this price band".
As well as the Soul Brother, Engage also have a BMX frame, and there are more products in the pipeline. For more details, visit Engage-Bikes.co.uk.

"dull colours and graphics normally associated with this price band". So he's not familiar with On-One then?
More money for an untried brand in restricted sizes and only a 100mm fork?

I'm very surprised that a frame from a
british company doesn't have the usual GB trademarks - i.e. front facing seatpost slot & CrudCatcher mounts on the downtube. thought these were de rigueur on Brit frames these days.

Hiya guys
thanks for the comments on engage, good to see what the you think
Engage is a brand new product of ours, we are in the process of designing new mtb and bmx products with input from avid riders. They already have thrown up many new suggestions and criticism which should follow down into our new products
The main areas have been :
frames capable of 120mm travel
a range of different colours
beefy chainstays and disc mount
The soul brother was designed to offer a similar ride and quality as the Brand X brand on crc
I also gave bike radar the wrong pricing, the soul brother retails at £99.99 not £139.99
We also offer a 2 year half price crash replacement warranty on all frames
If you guys have any more comments, I would please to hear them

Cant ask for much more than a one'er. 2 year crash replacement. Most companys dont warranty you MTB frame for use off road. Read your warrenty docs if you dont belive me. Bring it on.

I think this is spot on for the price and I quite like the decals, it actually looks like a modern hardtail and the illusion that is more expensive than its price tag states.
Anyone ever dealt with ON ONE will know their service is diabolical...
