New cycling visitor centre opens in Yorkshire Dales

Accommodation, workshop, cafe and more

The YorkshireDalesNational Park’s first cycle visitor centre has opened. It offers accommodation, bike hire, a repair shop, a cafe and secure cycle storage.

Owned and run by Dales Cycles, the renovated barn complex has been designed and built to be environmentally friendly and sustainable. It has ground source heating, energy-efficient appliances and a bikewash which will re-use water.

Owner Stuart Price told BikeRadar about the upcoming events being held at the centre. “At the Easter Weekend First Season Launch we’ll have a Trek demo fleet, guided biking, Dr Bike sessions, skills training sessions, a mini road sportive and more,” he said. “We’re having a dedicated events page on our website which will hopefully be fully operational next week.

“We’re also continuing Dales Mountain Biking, our skills courses, guided weekends and tours in the Yorkshire Dales that we’ve been running for over 10 years.”
