New folding electric bikes from Green Edge

By Mark Appleton

A London-based company, Green Edge Bikes Ltd, has just launched two new models of electric cycles: the Silverado and Blackstar.

These power assisted bikes are fitted with 36v lithium-ion power units delivering 240w. Green Edge's new business development manager Mike Hyams said: “There is a growing demand for our quality products and new models will be added to the range as this increases.  Customers tell us that the savings are tremendous and that commuting has again become a pleasure.”

Green Edge say the bikes are easy to ride, store and re-charge, are built with sturdy, foldable frames and come in one size with 20” wheels.  The company, headquartered in Battersea, London, is establishing a nationwide sales and service network to meet the needs of power cyclists.

The bikes are claimed by the manufacturers to be equally at home on large factory sites, or on the university or hospital campus and are priced at £699 and £799.
