New Giro sunglasses

By Jez Loftus, Technical editor

First spotted during the Tour de France with eventual winner, Alberto Cantador, being the most notable rider wearing a new pair of the new Giro sunglasses.

The new glasses are due for release in the autumn. We'll be getting our hands on the first samples at Eurobke but until then here's a quick look at the Giro Eyewear cycle range.

The Havik is the model worn by Contador and the other Tour riders. Topping the range the Haviks are designed to fit comfortably with a helmet (and not just Giro models). Vented sides are improve air circulation behind the lens with vented, rubberised nose pads and temple tips for comfort and stability. We haven't got GBP prices yet but the Havik's will range from $139-169 depending on lens options.

The Semi is the next in the range and features a half-entrapped frame. A versatile, more relaxed style for both road and trail ranges from $99.00 - $149.00 USD depending on lens option.

Keep checking back for a full review.

  • For trail riding i really like these sunglasses they fit well and are shaped nicely i've had other glasses which cause the air to curve under the glasses and get into my eyes and thats the worst feeling. If i'm not riding i have a few pairs of designer sunglasses rayban and such that i like to wear.
